The City of Jacksonville has announced several closures and operational changes in response to Winter Storm Enzo. The Emergency Operations Center is partially activated, and all city offices will remain closed on Wednesday, January 22, due to unsafe road conditions expected in the morning. Essential personnel are required to report for duty before conditions worsen, while non-essential staff will be on administrative leave.

City Council committee meetings initially scheduled for January 22 have been moved to January 23. Offices in the Beaches municipalities plan to stay open but will continue monitoring weather developments. Baldwin's Town Hall and Senior Center will close on January 22, with the latter remaining closed for the rest of the week.

The First Appearance Court for Duval, Clay, and Nassau counties will operate as usual on January 22; however, other court offices will be closed except for essential staff. The State Attorney’s Office in these counties also closes its doors except for First Appearance sessions.

Schools under DCPS jurisdiction are shutting down on January 22, though events planned for January 21 will proceed as scheduled. Additional warming centers are opening Tuesday night at specified locations across Jacksonville due to anticipated cold weather impacts.

Trash collection services set for Wednesday have been rescheduled to Saturday, January 25. Residents are advised to stay off roads from Tuesday evening through noon Wednesday for safety reasons. The Florida Department of Transportation is pre-treating state bridges against ice formation while local crews stand ready to address icy conditions.

The city's call center remains operational overnight starting at 10 pm Tuesday until normal hours resume Wednesday morning. Citizens should report any hazardous road or powerline issues by contacting 630-CITY.

Public transportation via JTA continues normally on Tuesday with free rides available to warming centers where feasible. Buses reroute around bridges when necessary; Skyway service begins at 9 am Wednesday with updates provided through social media channels.

Jacksonville International Airport plans a temporary halt of airfield operations beginning at 8 pm Tuesday due to potential ice hazards and aims tentatively reopening by noon Wednesday if safe conditions permit. Other local airfields like Cecil, Craig, and Herlong cease operations earlier at 5 pm Tuesday.

With cold temperatures posing fire risks from increased heating equipment use, residents should exercise caution with space heaters and fireplaces. Final preparations ahead of storm impacts can be found online at JaxReady.com/StayWarmJax.
