Senator Rick Scott has joined Senator John Hoeven and Congressman August Pfluger to introduce a resolution under the Congressional Review Act (CRA) aimed at blocking the Biden administration's Natural Gas Tax. This tax was included in the Inflation Reduction Act passed by Democrats in 2022. The resolution is supported by several other Senators, including Shelley Moore Capito, Mike Lee, James Lankford, Katie Britt, Steve Daines, Roger Marshall, Kevin Cramer, Cynthia Lummis, and James Risch. In the House of Representatives, Congressman Jodey Arrington is a cosponsor.

Senator Rick Scott stated that Washington should focus on American energy production and economic growth while ending what he referred to as "the woke agenda." He expressed his commitment to reversing policies he views as detrimental to American businesses and families.

Senator John Hoeven emphasized the importance of affordable and reliable energy for households and businesses. He argued that increasing energy supply is essential for reducing prices for U.S. consumers. Hoeven criticized the Natural Gas Tax as part of a series of taxes and regulations from the Biden administration that he believes hinder domestic energy production.

Congressman August Pfluger voiced concerns about President Biden's stance on fossil fuels. He warned that the Natural Gas Tax could stifle innovation, reduce affordable energy supplies, and lead to higher costs and emissions. Pfluger expressed pride in leading efforts to rescind this tax through the CRA resolution.
