The Jacksonville Human Rights Commission Annual Fair Housing Expo is set to return with a focus on affordable, sustainable, and attainable housing for residents. The keynote address at the expo will be delivered by Ms. Rothstein, a noted author who will also be giving away free copies of her latest book, Just Action. Dr. Rudy Jamison, Executive Director of the Jacksonville Human Rights Commission, expressed gratitude for Ms. Rothstein's presence, stating, "Few experts understand the complicated relationship between Jim Crow policies half a century ago and the affordable housing crisis in our cities today more than Leah Rothstein."
The Fair Housing Expo will include workshop sessions, panel discussions, and a roundtable discussion featuring state elected leaders Senator Tracie Davis and Rep. Angie Nixon, along with industry experts. Victoria Croy, JHRC Commissioner and Housing Committee Chairperson, highlighted the opportunity for residents to learn directly from experts in the field, stating, "The speakers will take questions and will connect attendees to resources available right here in Jacksonville."
Registration for the event is now open and free for all interested attendees. The expo promises giveaways, snacks, lunch, door prizes, and valuable information from experts in the topics of fair and affordable housing.
