Senator Rick Scott has been appointed to the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations and named Chairman of the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging. He will also continue his roles on the U.S. Senate Committee on Armed Services, the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, and the Committee on the Budget.

Scott expressed his commitment to serving Florida in these positions, stating, "I’m incredibly proud to continue serving the great state of Florida in the 119th Congress and be a member of key committees that will be essential to our fight to Make Washington Work for Florida families." He emphasized his dedication to advocating for issues important to Floridians, as well as supporting allies worldwide who share American values.

In his new role with the Foreign Relations Committee, Scott aims to focus on defending America's interests abroad. He stated intentions to support Israel against terrorism, hold adversaries like China, Russia, and Iran accountable, and promote freedom in Cuba, Venezuela, and Latin America.

Scott acknowledged colleagues John Thune and Mike Crapo for their assistance with committee assignments. He pledged commitment to advancing President Trump's agenda while protecting U.S. interests domestically and internationally.
