City offices and facilities in Jacksonville will be closed for Christmas, affecting various services and locations. Among the closures are City Hall at St. James, the Ed Ball Building, Jake M. Godbold City Hall Annex, and the Yates Building, which houses the Office of the Tax Collector and Property Appraiser.
The Duval County Courthouse and Supervisor of Elections main office will also be closed. Other affected facilities include the Municipal Code Compliance Division, Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department administrative offices, Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department offices, community centers, Tillie K. Fowler Regional Park Nature Center, Victim Services Center, Kids Hope Alliance (which will remain closed on December 28), Social Service Division Emergency Assistance office, Right-of-Way and Stormwater Management Division administrative offices, Mowing and Landscape Maintenance Division administrative offices, Solid Waste Division administrative offices, Household Hazardous Waste Facility, The Ritz Theatre & Museum, and Cecil Gym and Fitness Center.
Garbage collection services scheduled for Wednesday will instead occur on Saturday due to the holiday. The 630-CITY Customer Service Center will close from December 24 until 8 a.m. on December 26; however, online service requests can still be made.
Jacksonville Public Library branches will not operate on December 24 or 25. ACPS will open with limited hours on both days.
Tennis centers are closing during this period but hard courts and pickleball courts remain available for free play.
Huguenot Memorial Park opens early for pass holders but requires day visitors to leave by evening unless they have a camping reservation. Similarly, Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park follows adjusted entry times with specific requirements for campers regarding reservations and check-in procedures.
