Get Covered Jax! Campaign Successfully Reduces Uninsured Rate in Jacksonville

The Get Covered Jax! campaign in Jacksonville has proven to be a success, with a 34% decrease in the number of uninsured individuals in Duval County. Mayor Deegan expressed his excitement about the campaign's impact, stating, “I am thrilled that Get Covered Jax! was so successful. I want Jacksonville to be a healthier city because health, both physical and mental, is key to our economic prosperity."

Dr. Joshi, Chief Health Officer for the City of Jacksonville, highlighted the importance of the campaign's success, stating, “More people will now have access to preventative health services... It is very encouraging to see so many people take advantage of signing up for marketplace insurance."

The Get Covered Jax! campaign aimed to educate citizens about the benefits of health insurance, coverage options, and resources available to help navigate the enrollment process. Mayor Deegan emphasized the significance of reducing the uninsured rate further in the upcoming open enrollment period, stating, “I look forward to reducing this rate even further during the next open enrollment period."

With the success of the campaign, Jacksonville is on its way to becoming one of the healthiest communities in the country. The next general open enrollment period for the Get Covered Jax! campaign is set to begin on November 1, 2024.
