U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) recently appeared on The Ingraham Angle to discuss the pressing issues of illegal immigration and border security. In the interview, Rubio highlighted the need for reforms in the asylum process and the parole program, which he argued were being abused.

Rubio emphasized the importance of executing the existing laws regarding immigration. He pointed out that while the laws have remained the same from the Trump administration to the Biden administration, the way they are applied and executed has changed. Rubio stated, "Trump had the same laws as Biden, but Trump did not allow people and discouraged people from coming. We detained people, and we deported people, and we forced people to remain in Mexico. Biden on day one said, 'I'm getting rid of all the Trump policies.' They're not following the laws that exist now. They're not using their enforcement tools now."

The Senator expressed skepticism about the effectiveness of any new legislation on border security, given the administration's reluctance to adhere to existing laws. Rubio questioned, "What makes you think they're going to adhere to any legislative deal that's done on border security?" He further added, "If they're willing to go to the Supreme Court to fight against border security, what makes you think they're going to adhere to any legislative deal that's done on border security? They're going to take the legislation and say, 'That's an option,' but not pursue it, because they're not interested in border security."

Rubio also highlighted the significant changes in the immigration issue over time. He compared the situation in 2013 to the present day, stating, "Today, what we have is something we've never seen in American history. In the month of December, 300,000 people – on a daily basis, 5,000 to 6,000 people – just walked into the country every day and were released." He further noted the ease with which individuals can now gain asylum and travel without proper identification, contrasting it with the security measures in place after 9/11.

When asked about the possibility of quickly passing an immigration bill, Rubio emphasized the importance of careful consideration of the language used in the legislation. He stated, "If I give the language to you on Tuesday or Wednesday, and I say, 'You have to vote on it on Thursday,' especially on something like immigration law, where every little word matters for how it is going to be interpreted…"

Rubio also expressed skepticism about President Biden's intentions regarding a bipartisan deal on immigration. He suggested that the President might prefer the House not passing the bill, allowing him to shift the blame onto Republicans. Rubio stated, "This is all Biden wants: he wants to reach a bipartisan deal with Republicans in the Senate, then have the House not pass it, so he can go around saying: 'Look, we tried! The crazy Republican MAGA people in the House wouldn't do it. Now, they own the border crisis.' That's what this is all about."

In conclusion, Senator Marco Rubio's interview on The Ingraham Angle shed light on the urgent need for reforms in the asylum process and the parole program. He highlighted the discrepancies in the execution of immigration laws between the Trump and Biden administrations. Rubio also expressed doubts about the effectiveness of new legislation on border security, emphasizing the need for the administration to adhere to existing laws. The Senator's insights into the changing nature of the immigration issue and his skepticism about the possibility of quickly passing an immigration bill provided valuable perspectives on this ongoing debate.
