WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senator Rick Scott has proposed a bill to ban the import of garlic from Communist China due to concerns over its safety and the conditions in which it is grown. Reports have indicated that Chinese garlic is grown in raw human sewage and harvested with the use of slave labor. In response to these alarming findings, Senator Scott has introduced the Stopping Eating Waste And Guarantee Excellence for Garlic Assurance and Regulatory Legislation to Inhibit Chinese (SEWAGE GARLIC) Imports Act.
In a public service announcement, Senator Scott urged families to be cautious when purchasing garlic and to avoid Communist China Sewage Garlic. He expressed his concerns about the safety of garlic produced in Communist China, stating, "We already know Communist China has a proven track record of producing unsafe goods and that we can’t trust its food to be safe for our families. This is especially true for garlic grown in Communist China."
The senator's proposed bill comes after he wrote a letter to Secretary Gina Raimondo, urging the Department of Commerce to investigate the food safety of garlic grown in Communist China. He also sent letters to major grocers in America, calling on them to remove Chinese Sewage Garlic from their shelves to reduce the risk to their customers.
Senator Scott emphasized the need for action, stating, "Chinese Sewage Garlic shouldn’t be acceptable for human consumption until we can be absolutely positive that it’s safe and up to our standards." He highlighted the unsanitary conditions under which Chinese garlic is grown, with reports suggesting the use of raw sewage and bleach to make it appear cleaner.
By introducing the SEWAGE GARLIC Imports Act, Senator Scott aims to protect Americans from this alarming practice. The bill seeks to ban the import of garlic from Communist China, ensuring that only products that are verifiably safe for consumption are available in the United States.
As the majority of the world's garlic is produced in Communist China, this proposed ban would have significant implications for the global garlic market. However, Senator Scott believes that the safety and well-being of American consumers should be the top priority.
The Stopping Eating Waste And Guarantee Excellence for Garlic Assurance and Regulatory Legislation to Inhibit Chinese (SEWAGE GARLIC) Imports Act is now under consideration, and its passage would mark a significant step in safeguarding the health and well-being of the American people.
