WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senators Rick Scott and Roger Marshall, along with their colleagues, have voiced their lack of confidence in Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. They have requested unanimous consent on a resolution that expresses the sense of the Senate and the American people that Secretary Mayorkas is incapable of faithfully carrying out the duties of his office.

The resolution highlights Secretary Mayorkas' failure to secure the U.S. southern border, which has resulted in the entry of millions of illegal aliens into the country. This includes a concerning number of terrorists. Unfortunately, Senator Tom Carper has blocked the passage of this resolution.

According to the data, since President Biden took office, there have been over 6.7 million encounters at the southern border. In addition, an estimated 1.7 million known individuals, commonly referred to as "gotaways," have managed to evade U.S. Border Patrol. The situation at the border has only worsened, as November 2023 recorded 242,418 encounters, representing a nearly 40% increase compared to November 2021.

Of particular concern is the significant increase in the number of Chinese nationals apprehended at the southern border. In November 2023 alone, there were 4,797 encounters with Chinese nationals, marking an alarming 800% increase compared to November 2022. Furthermore, there were 18 individuals whose names appeared on the terrorist watch list.

Senator Scott's speech on this matter can be viewed online, providing further insight into the concerns surrounding Secretary Mayorkas' performance. The full resolution is also available to read for those who wish to delve deeper into the details.

The sentiment expressed by Senators Scott, Marshall, and their colleagues reflects the growing discontent with Secretary Mayorkas' ability to effectively secure the U.S. southern border. The alarming increase in encounters, the number of individuals evading capture, and the presence of terrorists highlight the urgent need for stronger border security measures.

It remains to be seen how the Senate will address these concerns and whether Secretary Mayorkas will be held accountable for the failures at the southern border. The resolution serves as a clear message that the American people expect decisive action to address this critical issue.
