Senator Rick Scott has authored an op-ed for The Hill, expressing his perspective on President Trump's actions regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Senator Scott emphasizes that President Trump, with the support of European allies, is committed to safeguarding America's interests and addressing the situation in Ukraine, which he claims was compromised by prior management.

In his piece, Senator Scott critiques the previous administration's approach, writing, "Joe Biden dealt President Trump a bad hand on Ukraine. Over the course of nearly three years, Biden unfortunately mismanaged the Russian invasion of Ukraine toward a stalemate." Scott argues that the Biden administration provided insufficient resources to Ukraine, prolonging the conflict without offering a clear resolution. Additionally, Scott accuses Biden of inadequate engagement with European allies.

Scott notes that "hundreds of thousands of people have been killed or wounded in the Ukraine war," describing it as a significant ongoing conflict in Europe. He asserts that President Trump, upon assuming office, has moved to end the conflict, stating, "Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the entire administration know well that it is in America’s and Europe’s best interests for Ukraine to win this war."

Scott also points out Trump's strategy toward Russia, which involves sanctions and military aid to Ukraine while proposing improved relations contingent on Russia's amicable resolution of the conflict. "We have seen the remarkable way Trump is dealing with Russia," Scott writes.

With a focus on leveraging Ukraine's mineral and energy resources, Scott adds that Trump is prepared to offer further military support if necessary, describing it as crucial for deterring further Russian aggression. Scott closes his argument by urging Putin to conclude the conflict, stating that, "Under Trump’s leadership, the war in Ukraine can be brought to an honorable close."

The full op-ed is available in The Hill.
