Rep. John Rutherford, currently serving Florida’s 5th District in the U.S. Congress, has expressed his views and congratulatory messages in a series of tweets. Rutherford, who began representing this district in 2017, took to social media to address recent political developments and policy matters.

On April 2, 2025, Rep. Rutherford congratulated Congressman-elect Jimmy Patronis in a Twitter post. He remarked, "Congratulations, Congressman-elect Jimmy Patronis! Once again, pollsters and the media tried to influence an election for the Democrats, but failed. Jimmy, excited to welcome you to the Florida delegation!"

In another tweet on the same day, Rutherford extended his congratulations to Congressman-elect Randy Fine. He commented, "Congratulations to our district’s new neighbor to the South, Congressman-elect Randy Fine! Despite the efforts made by Democrats, pollsters, and the media, America First policies won yet again in Florida. Randy, can’t wait to get to work with you in Congress."

Later on April 2, Rutherford shared his views on U.S. trade policies. He stated, "Tariffs help bring American jobs back home, incentivize buying American, AND put pressure on Canada and Mexico to stop the flow of fentanyl and illegal immigrants from their countries into ours. Even the Biden Admin kept or increased tariffs that President Trump imposed." His statements underscore the ongoing debate regarding tariff policies and their implications on international and domestic fronts.
