Today, Senators Rick Scott, Ron Johnson, and James Lankford introduced the Regulatory Decimation Act. The proposed legislation aims to control federal regulations by requiring agencies to repeal ten existing rules before issuing a new one. It also mandates that the cost of any new regulation does not exceed that of the ones repealed. Congressman Dave Taylor is leading this initiative in the House of Representatives.

Senator Rick Scott expressed concerns about the expansion of federal regulations during President Biden's administration, which he claims costs Americans $1.9 trillion. He stated, "President Trump and DOGE are committed to streamlining government to make it work better for the American people."

Senator Ron Johnson emphasized that repealing regulations should be standard practice to alleviate what he described as a regulatory burden imposed by the current administration. "Americans deserve relief from the Biden administration’s massive regulatory burden," he said.

Congressman Dave Taylor criticized federal micromanagement in various sectors and advocated for focusing on constitutional functions like national defense. He expressed his support for Senator Scott's efforts, stating, "This will enable the United States to take bold action like unleashing American energy."

The introduction of this bill seeks collaboration with Republicans in Congress and former President Trump to limit government overreach.
