Today, Senator Rick Scott issued a statement in response to the latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The data indicates a 2.9 percent increase in CPI over the year as of December 2024, marking a 20.7 percent rise since the Biden-Harris administration began.
Senator Scott criticized the current administration's fiscal policies, stating, “The Biden-Harris administration will be remembered forever by families for 20+ percent inflation and economic failures that wreaked havoc on folks in every state, forcing families to go without and seniors out of retirement."
He emphasized the need for change in Washington and expressed his eagerness to collaborate with "President Trump, DOGE and my colleagues to stop Democrats' wasteful spending and reckless policies." He highlighted the impact of inflation on everyday items, noting significant price increases over the past year: eggs by 36.8%, juice by 12.5%, beef by 6.8%, rent by 4.6%, and coffee by 4.4%.
Senator Scott has consistently called for measures to tackle national debt and mitigate inflation's adverse effects since his election to the U.S. Senate.
