Today, Senator Rick Scott issued a statement criticizing President Joe Biden's decision to remove Cuba from the state sponsor of terrorism list.

Senator Scott expressed strong disapproval, stating, “Joe Biden’s shameful legacy of appeasement has been cemented. By removing Cuba from the State Sponsor of Terrorism list, Biden is weakly playing into the hands of an evil, illegitimate dictator who’s using innocent lives as a bargaining chip. THIS IS RECKLESS AND DANGEROUS."

He further argued that "the Communist Cuban regime rightly belongs on the State Sponsor of Terrorism list – based on ALL CRITERIA for the list." According to Scott, Cuba continues to exploit the United States and create instability in Latin America. He accused Cuba of harboring terrorists, providing support to Maduro's regime in Venezuela, and hosting a Chinese Communist Party spy station near Florida.

Scott stated that there have been no counter-terrorism efforts by Cuba that would justify its removal from the list. He believes that this decision endangers Americans and harms efforts for freedom and democracy in Cuba. Senator Scott also mentioned plans to work with former President Trump to hold the Cuban regime accountable.
