As the 119th Congress begins, Senator Rick Scott has announced his legislative priorities aimed at addressing issues for Florida families and the nation. Serving as Chairman of the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging, Scott will also participate in several other key committees, including Foreign Relations, Armed Services, Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, and Budget.

Senator Scott stated, “I’m excited to kick off the 119th Congress by refiling several pieces of legislation that truly protect and prioritize families in Florida and across the world and put their best interests first." He emphasized his commitment to advancing initiatives such as the Sunshine Protection Act to make daylight saving time permanent and pushing for term limits for Congress members through constitutional amendments.

Scott aims to tackle fiscal responsibility with measures like the No Budget, No Pay Act, which would prevent Congressional pay until budget resolutions are passed. His focus extends to protecting seniors with the Protect Our Seniors Act and providing tax relief through the Homeowners Premium Tax Reduction Act.

On foreign policy, Scott plans to counter what he describes as "Biden’s dangerous appeasement policies" with efforts like the Taiwan Invasion Prevention Act. He also seeks to bolster national security through various acts designed to secure borders and combat trafficking.

The senator's agenda includes supporting veterans through initiatives like the SCHEDULES Act for better appointment scheduling within VA facilities. Scott expressed his dedication to working with colleagues in both houses of Congress and other leaders like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy at DOGE to "end the broken status quo."
