Animal Care and Protective Services (ACPS) in Jacksonville, Florida, is facing a critical situation as they are "out of space" and urgently need to find homes for 60 dogs. Chief Michael Bricker emphasized the importance of community support, stating, "We need the support of the community in a way that we never have before."
The ACPS is calling for individuals to join their "Space Force" crew by fostering dogs for a period of 6 weeks while essential work is being carried out on the shelter's HVAC system. It is imperative for the safety of the dogs that a minimum of 60 of them are housed outside of the shelter during this time.
Dogs eligible for fostering through the "ACPS Space Force" will be able to go to their foster homes as soon as arrangements are made. The shelter will provide necessary supplies and support for those willing to foster.
The urgent need for foster homes is immediate, and those interested can reach out to Animal Care and Protective Services at 2020 Forest Street, Jacksonville, FL 32204.
The ACPS staff and volunteers are working tirelessly to ensure the well-being of these dogs during this challenging time and are counting on the community to come together and support this crucial initiative.
