The City of Jacksonville is gearing up to host the 32nd Annual World of Nations Celebration on February 24th and 25th at Tailgaters Parking in Jacksonville, Florida. The event promises to be a vibrant showcase of cultural diversity, featuring over 25 countries.
Mayor Deegan of the City of Jacksonville expressed the significance of the event, stating, "For more than 30 years, the Celebration has showcased Jacksonville's rich cultural tapestry, highlighting the unique backgrounds that make our city so special."
Attendees can look forward to a variety of experiences at the World of Nations Celebration. One of the event highlights is the Culinary Adventure, offering a taste of international cuisines from countries like Colombia, India, and Turkey. Additionally, there will be interactive cultural experiences, country tents with traditional crafts, and insights into the heritage of each participating nation.
A special moment during the celebration will be the Naturalization Ceremony on Saturday at 11 a.m., where individuals from around the world will become United States citizens. Mayor Deegan emphasized the importance of this ceremony, stating, "It's a moment that reflects the essence of unity and diversity that defines the spirit of the World of Nations Celebration."
Furthermore, on Sunday, there will be a free citizenship drive for Legal Permanent Residents interested in beginning their journey towards citizenship. This initiative is sponsored by NEFIRA, the University of North Florida, and the City of Jacksonville.
The event will also feature a Parade of Flags on Sunday at 2 p.m., showcasing representatives from each participating country in traditional costumes, celebrating the diversity that enriches Jacksonville's cultural landscape.
Tickets for the World of Nations Celebration can be purchased online at a discounted advance price or at the entrance on the event days. Please note that on-site ticket sales are cashless, with major credit and debit cards accepted.
The event will take place on Saturday, Feb. 24, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 25, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Tailgaters Parking, 225 Talleyrand Ave, Jacksonville, FL 32202. Representatives from 25 nations around the world will be in attendance to share their cultures and traditions with the Jacksonville community.
