Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL), Vice Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, visited the AMIA museum to pay tribute to the victims of the 1994 terrorist attack. Rubio also honored the late Argentine prosecutor Alberto Nisman, who was killed 9 years ago before revealing his findings on the attack backed by Iran.
In a statement during his visit, Senator Rubio remarked, “This year marks 30 years since the brutal terrorist attack on the AMIA. It is an honor to visit this museum and commemorate the 85 victims, as well as the Argentine prosecutor Alberto Nisman, who investigated this brutal attack and was murdered simply for doing his job. We must continue to advocate for justice and accountability. At a time when antisemitism is on the rise globally, it is our moral duty to support the Jewish community.”
The visit by Senator Rubio comes as part of his ongoing efforts to remember the victims of terrorist attacks against the Jewish community in Argentina. Previous actions include presenting resolutions in honor of the victims and urging investigations into the AMIA attack.
