The City of Jacksonville has announced the training dates for lifeguards in 2024. The training sessions, which include full courses, hybrid classes, and re-certification, will take place at various locations throughout the city.
According to a city spokesperson, the full course training will be held on the following dates: March 11 - 15 at Cecil, March 18 - 22 at Charles Clark, March 25 - 29 at Cecil, and April 15 - 19 at Woodland Acres. These sessions will run from Monday to Friday.
For those interested in the hybrid class, participants must complete an online section before attending the in-person sessions. The hybrid classes will be held on February 17 and 18 at Cecil, March 18 and 19 at Charles Clark, March 20 and 21 at Charles Clark, and April 6 and 7 at Woodland Acres. The in-person sessions will take place on Saturdays and Sundays.
In addition, individuals who need to re-certify their lifeguard certification can do so on February 19 at Cecil, March 16 at Charles Clark, and May 11 at Woodland Acres. These re-certification sessions will be held on specific days of the week.
