2022 OneJax Humanitarian Awards call for nominations

University of North Florida issued the following announcement on Aug. 30.

OneJax, an Institute of the University of North Florida, is seeking nominations for the 2022 Humanitarian Awards, to take place on May 12, 2022. This event will mark the 52nd occasion that OneJax has honored those making a big impact on the Jacksonville community.

 Anyone may submit a nomination for consideration for the following awards:

The Silver Medallion honors those who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to our community.

The Dr. Gaston Acosta-Rua Young Professionals Award recognizes a young professional who is already making a significant impact on strengthening the community through their time, talent and treasure.

Selection criteria:

History of community service through long-term involvement in civic, religious, nonprofit or professional/business organizations

Dedication to the improvement of human relations among diverse groups in the Jacksonville area

Impeccable personal and professional integrity

Sustained commitment to humanitarian ideals

History of placing humanitarian concerns above self-interest

Realistic humility about his/her importance in the world

The selection of honorees is made by a committee consisting of the OneJax executive director, board chair, the chair of the Humanitarian Awards Dinner Committee and members of the OneJax Circle of Honorees, previously the Humanitarian Award Honorees.

 Nominations should be submitted via the nominating form during the month of September 2021. Forms received after close of business on Thursday, Sept. 30 will not be eligible.
