University of North Florida issued the following announcement on Aug. 30.
The North Florida men's cross country team has opened up as the seventh-ranked team in the South Region Preseason Rankings that was released by the U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday.
Ole Miss, Florida State, and Middle Tennessee make up to top three teams for the South Region. Lipscomb, who was selected second in the preseason ASUN rankings behind UNF, was selected one spot over the Ospreys in the regional rankings at sixth.
The UNF men's team, who are the reigning ASUN champions, opened up as the conference favorite for the ASUN earlier this month. Senior Nathan Jubran, who qualified for the NCAA Championship meet as an individual during the spring season, won the ASUN Preseason Runner of the Year as well.
The Ospreys first meet of the season will be on Friday, Sept 17., where they will compete in the FSU XC Open in Tallahassee, Fla.
