Jacksonville announces Fourth of July closures for city facilities

City offices and facilities will be closed on July 4, 2024, in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. The closures include:

- City Hall at St. James, 117 W. Duval St.

- Ed Ball Building, 214 N. Hogan St.

- Jake M. Godbold City Hall Annex, 407 N. Laura St.

- Yates Building, 231 E. Forsyth St., including all Tax Collector branch offices and The Office of the Property Appraiser

- Duval County Courthouse, 501 W. Adams St.

- Supervisor of Elections main office, 105 E. Monroe St.

- Animal Care and Protective Services, 2020 Forest St.

- Municipal Code Compliance Division, 214 N. Hogan St.

- Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department administrative offices, 515 N. Julia St.

- Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department offices, 214 N. Hogan St., along with all community and senior centers and gymnasiums managed by this department

- Tillie K. Fowler Regional Park Nature Center, 7000 Roosevelt Blvd.

- Victim Services Center, 403 W. 10th St.

- Kids Hope Alliance, 1095 A Philip Randolph Blvd.

- Social Service Division Emergency Assistance office, 1809 Art Museum Dr.

- Right-of-Way and Stormwater Management Division administrative offices and Mowing and Landscape Maintenance Division administrative offices at 609 St. Johns Bluff Rd.

- Solid Waste Division administrative offices at1031 Superior St., Household Hazardous Waste Facility at2675 Commonwealth Ave., Ritz Theatre & Museum at829 N DavisSt.,and Cecil Gym & Fitness Centerat13531 Lake NewmanDr.

There will be no change to garbage, recycling or yard waste collection services.

The customer service center (630-CITY) will be closed on July 4; however customers may request city services online anytime via myjax.custhelp.com.

All public libraries will also be closed on July fourth.

City pools will operate from11a.m.to6p.m.except for theCecil Aquatic Center whichwillopenfrom9a.m.-noonand1p.m.-6p.m.The list of open pools includes:

Huguenot Memorial Park hours are from6:00a.m.to8:00p.monJuly fourthwithadmissionclosinganhourpriortoclosing.Managementmayclosetheparkforadmissionsorbeachdrivingdue to high tides or unsafe conditions.The north end of the peninsula remains closed to vehicles due to nesting shorebirds protected bytheMigratoryBirdAct.
