WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Rick Scott is calling for immediate action in the Senate to support Israel amidst an attack by Iran, the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism. In a statement released today, Senator Scott demanded that Majority Leader Chuck Schumer allow a vote on the House-passed Israel aid bill and his Stop Taxpayer Funding of Hamas Act when the Senate reconvenes on Monday.

During his recent visit to Israel, where he met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials, Senator Scott witnessed firsthand the devastation caused by Iran-backed Hamas terrorists. He emphasized the importance of the United States standing firmly with Israel in its fight against terrorism, stating, "Israel is once again under attack and the United States must clearly and strongly stand with our great ally and fully support its right and obligation to defend itself by any means necessary."

Senator Scott highlighted the urgency of the situation, urging bipartisan support for Israel and condemning past delays in aid passage, saying, "Again and again, Democrats have blocked the passage of aid for Israel. The House has passed a good bill that is ready for Senate passage right now." He called on Schumer to prioritize the Israel aid bill and the Stop Taxpayer Funding of Hamas Act, stressing their critical importance.

Furthermore, Senator Scott pointed to Iran as the primary source of terrorism and emphasized the need for a unified stance against the regime, stating, "Let us all remember who the enemy is and has always been: the evil, terror-supporting regime in Iran." He criticized the Biden administration for what he perceives as appeasement towards Iran and lack of support for Israel, calling for a clear demonstration of solidarity from both the administration and Congress.

As tensions escalate in the region, Senator Rick Scott's calls for swift action in support of Israel resonate in Washington, urging bipartisan cooperation and a firm stance against terrorism.
