ICYMI: Rubio Speaks to AIPAC Florida Delegation

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio addressed the Florida delegation of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) on the Israel-Hamas conflict and the threat posed by Iran. Rubio emphasized the need to confront the root of the issue, stating, "Until that problem is confronted, and we accept it for what it is, we can’t truly begin to solve it." He highlighted the link between human trafficking groups and terrorist organizations like ISIS and Hezbollah, expressing concern over the potential threats posed by these connections.

Rubio also discussed the ongoing funding discussions for Israel, mentioning the challenges and the bipartisan support for aid. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that aid to Israel is not conditioned, stating, "We support you to win this war, but you can’t do the things it’s going to take to win the war." Rubio underscored the broader implications of the conflict, pointing out Iran's ambition to spread its influence and destabilize the region.

The Senator warned of Iran's long-range missile capabilities and its goal to become the dominant regional power, driving America out of the region and destroying the Jewish state. He highlighted Iran's support for groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis, attributing their weapons and resources to Iranian backing. Rubio also raised concerns about the future of American public policy and the influence of current college students on shaping future decisions.

In addition, Rubio addressed challenges faced by Jewish students on college campuses and expressed disappointment over the rise of anti-Semitic sentiments. He criticized protesters supporting Hamas in the U.S. and called for action against those organizing disruptive activities. Rubio reassured the audience of his commitment to advocating for the national interest and educating on the complexities of the Middle East region.

Rubio concluded by reaffirming his dedication to addressing these challenges, stating, "It’s not just stuff I deeply believe, but it’s in the national interest of our country." He emphasized the importance of staying vigilant and informed about the evolving dynamics in the region.
