Senator Rick Scott questioned Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Shalanda Young during a Senate Committee on the Budget hearing regarding President Biden's budget proposal. Scott expressed concerns over the significant increase in federal spending and the impact on national debt.

Scott criticized the Biden administration's spending habits, stating, "For three years, the American people have watched the Biden administration spend all their money and then borrow more and spend that too, but they aren’t seeing their lives get any better. Prices keep going up, interest rates keep going up, and taxes keep going up, but President Biden wants to add another $6.4 TRILLION in debt over the next four years with more reckless, inflation-fueling spending."

The Senator highlighted the disproportionate increase in federal spending compared to population growth, emphasizing that the proposed budget would exceed sustainable levels. He also raised concerns about the potential negative impact on job creation if corporate tax rates are raised.

Scott pledged to challenge Director Young further during the Budget Committee hearing, aiming to shed light on what he perceives as the administration's misleading economic narrative. He asserted, "This proposed budget is an insult to the American people... families struggle just to get by."

The ongoing debate over President Biden's budget proposal underscores the growing concerns surrounding rising national debt and the administration's fiscal policies.
