Washington, D.C. - A group of senators led by Rick Scott and Tom Cotton has introduced a resolution condemning the slogan "From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free." The senators argue that this slogan, which has been used by Iran-backed Hamas terrorists, is not only antisemitic but also a call for the destruction of the Jewish state.

The resolution comes in response to the recent atrocities committed by Hamas terrorists during their attack on October 7th, which resulted in the deaths of over 1,400 innocent people, including at least 33 Americans. The terrorists have also taken hundreds of Israelis hostage, including several Americans. Senator Scott, a staunch supporter of Israel's right to defend itself, is demanding that the Biden administration take action to bring American hostages home.

In a joint statement, Senator Scott and his colleagues express their concern about the antisemitic nature of the slogan: "It is the sense of the Senate that the slogan 'From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free' and its derivations are antisemitic and a call for genocide and the destruction of the Jewish state." The senators believe that this slogan promotes hatred and undermines the stability and security of the region.

The resolution has garnered support from a number of senators, including Bill Hagerty, John Barrasso, Katie Britt, Pete Ricketts, Marco Rubio, John Kennedy, John Boozman, Ted Budd, Marsha Blackburn, Dan Sullivan, Kevin Cramer, John Thune, Deb Fischer, Lindsey Graham, Tommy Tuberville, and James Lankford.

The introduction of this resolution highlights the growing concern among lawmakers about the rise of antisemitism and the threats faced by Israel. The senators are urging the Biden administration to take a strong stance against the use of this slogan and to support Israel in its efforts to defend itself against terrorist attacks.

As tensions continue to escalate in the region, it is crucial for the international community to condemn antisemitism and support the right of Israel to exist as a sovereign state. The resolution introduced by Senators Scott and Cotton is an important step in that direction and sends a clear message that the United States stands with Israel in the face of these threats.
