Rubio also addressed Russia's proposal for an Israel-Hamas ceasefire in the United Nations. He highlighted Russia's attempt to amplify its own importance in the world by cooperating with various groups in the region. He further mentioned that the U.S. is likely to veto any such proposal.

In conclusion, Rubio acknowledged the complexity and difficulty of the situation, emphasizing that every civilian death in Gaza is the responsibility of Hamas, as they use them as shields. He stated, "The Israelis have given ample warning... They want those people to stay. They want those people to die, because they want the New York Times and the Washington Post and the global press and Western elites to all put pressure on Israel to stop, so Hamas can survive and a few months or years from now come back and slaughter more Jews. That’s not going to happen again. It cannot happen again."
