In a recent interview with Maria Molina of NTN24, Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) discussed the ongoing terrorist attacks by Hamas against Israel, as well as his disagreement with the Colombian President Gustavo Petro's stance on the matter. Rubio emphasized the role of Iran as a key supporter of Hamas and highlighted the need for the United States to provide assistance to Israel. He also expressed concern about the use of civilians as human shields by Hamas and the rise of anti-Semitic sentiments globally.

Rubio began by describing Hamas as a dangerous group whose explicit purpose is the elimination of all Jews in the Middle East and the establishment of a Palestinian state governed by radicals. He stated, "This group wants all Jews to die or leave that region. It is an extremely dangerous group that is willing to kill and massacre innocent people and must be eliminated."

Regarding the role of the United States, Rubio clarified that Israel is not asking for American soldiers or direct military action. Instead, they request necessary materials and resources. He said, "The role of the U.S. is to provide Israel with the necessary materials. They are simply asking for replenishment if their resources run out."

Rubio condemned Hamas for using civilians as human shields, stating, "It is very regrettable that children have to die. The blame is 100% on Hamas because they hide behind them. If Hamas were not cowardly, they would directly confront the Israeli Defense Forces. But they don't. They attack Israel, kill people, hide behind civilians, and put pressure on the international community to tell Israel to stop. And then, they survive and come back and kill more. That's why the blame is 100% on Hamas."

Highlighting Iran's support for Hamas, Rubio emphasized that Hamas would not exist without Iran. He stated, "Hamas has no military capability without Iran. They cannot carry out these attacks without Iran. Everything, including the weapons, money, training, and even the electronic weapons to attack Israel's monitoring system, came from Iran. This group does not exist without Iran."

While Rubio clarified that he is not advocating for direct U.S. involvement in the conflict, he asserted that if Iran-aligned groups were to attack American personnel in the region, the U.S. should respond directly against Iran. He added, "The goal is very simple: to eliminate Hamas and provide Israel with the necessary materials. Israel is willing to fight, and we must assist them."

Turning to the situation in Colombia, Rubio expressed concern about the pro-Palestinian stance of President Petro and its impact on the relationship between Colombia and the United States. He stated, "Unfortunately, Colombia democratically elected a president who is morally confused, aligns with these elements, and makes mistakes daily." Rubio acknowledged the strong ties between the United States and Colombian institutions but noted the difficulties posed by President Petro's alignment with anti-West and anti-U.S. groups.

Addressing the recent comments made by the Hamas founder, Rubio expressed sadness and concern about the response of some individuals in the United States. He said, "It is very regrettable that here in the most prestigious universities, we have students – even those who are being paid to attend these universities – who not only support the Palestinian cause but also respond to the call of a group that has just murdered babies, girls, and the elderly. It is very regrettable."

Finally, Rubio commented on the suspension of the extradition of Colombian paramilitary leader Salvatore Mancuso. He compared this situation to other cases where negotiations with criminals and terrorists are considered possible. Rubio expressed concern about individuals who, despite their criminal past, attempt to present themselves as politicians and undermine Colombian institutions. He emphasized the need to remain cautious and emphasized the importance of not making concessions to such groups.

In conclusion, Senator Marco Rubio's interview with NTN24 shed light on the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, highlighting the role of Iran as a key supporter of the terrorist group. Rubio emphasized the need for the United States to assist Israel and expressed concern about the use of civilians as human shields by Hamas. Additionally, he discussed the situation in Colombia, expressing his disagreement with President Petro's pro-Palestinian stance and its potential impact on the relationship between Colombia and the United States.
