City accepting cultural arts and recreation grant proposals through Aug. 22

The City of Atlantic Beach places a high priority on arts and recreation as key indicators of a good quality of life for its residents. Indeed, one of the City Commission’s 2022 priorities is “LIVABILITY - Improve health, recreation, arts, culture, leisure, education, military appreciation, and other quality of life indicators via … improving accessibility to programming for all residents, particularly children and senior citizens.” As such, the City Commission has allocated funding for FY 2022-23 to support artistic, recreational, and cultural programs, events and projects benefitting Atlantic Beach residents.

One grant application may be submitted per eligible community service organization, for-profit entity, individual, or school or district. The maximum award request is $5,000 per organization, for-profit entity, or individual; and $10,000 per school or district. Final grant amounts are determined by the City Commission following a review Cultural Arts and Recreation Advisory Committee. The application deadline is Aug. 22, 2022.
