Dr. Bridgett Rahim Williams, assistant director of research integrity in the University of North Florida Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, will receive the “Outstanding Contributions to the Network of Minority Health Research Investigators (NMRI) Award” from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) at the NMRI annual meeting from April 20 to April 22, 2022.

The Outstanding Contributions to NMRI Award recognizes Dr. Williams’ years of exceptional performance, significant service, contributions, and dedication to NMRI based upon recommendations by leadership. The award exemplifies the highest commitment to improving public understanding of minority health while supporting the missions of the NIH and National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.

Mentoring minorities in health care research is one of Dr. Williams’ greatest passions. Prior to coming to UNF, she was involved in minority health research, including serving several years as a research professor at the University of Florida, as well as a fellow at the NIH.
