Dolphins Fall to Bulls in Tampa

10

Jacksonville University recently issued the following announcement.

The Dolphins (7-4) returned to travel after two weeks as they made their way south for a matchup against #18 USF (10-4). In their second matchup against a ranked opponent, JU fell to USF 70-57.

The first half was close, as both teams were able to score with ease. However, their points came in different ways, USF scored 21 of 44 points from the three-point line while JU remained in the paint for all but three of their points. At the half, USF led 44-33.

While the quarters changed, the story did not. USF remained consistent throughout the game as they continued to drain three-pointers and hold a steady double-digit lead for the remainder of the contest. Without their leading rebounder, KayKay Hayes, JU was unable to win that category as well, getting out-rebounded 40 to 26. Both areas proved to be key factors in tonight's loss.

This was the final game of 2021 for the Dolphins and their final non-conference game of the season. Once the calendar reads 2022, JU returns to play on the road against Kennesaw State (4-7) on Wednesday, January 5th at 7:30 PM.
