Edward Waters College Athletics recently issued the following announcement.
The Gulf Coast Athletic Conference offices have announced the selection of Edward Waters Men's Basketball senior guard/forward Elias Harden as the conference's Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
The 6-6, 188lb transfer from Georgetown and Jacksonville State led Edward Waters to a 1-1 week in last week's action at the Keiser University Thanksgiving Classic in West Palm Beach with back-to-back 20+ point efforts against Florida Memorial and Keiser.
Against, Florida Memorial, Harden was the game's leading scorer, finishing with 25 points on 9-21 shooting, including going 5-13 from three-point range. Harden also added four rebounds and an assists to his stat line as well.
One night later against host school, Keiser, Harden was a major catalyst in Edward Waters' 84-81 win over the Seahawks, snapping an 11-game losing streak against Keiser. The East Point, Georgia native finished with 24 points on 7-13 shooting, was 4-8 from three-point range, while also adding six rebounds, and two assists in the historic victory.
For the season, Harden is the team's leading scorer, averaging 19.0 points per game, while shooting 37.8% from three-point range.
