1

Duval County Public Schools issued the following announcement on Sept. 16.

Congratulations to the 24 Duval County Public Schools students — representing Douglas Anderson, Fletcher, Mandarin, Stanton, and Wolfson high schools — who are among the approximately 16,000 semifinalists selected for the 67th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

These academically gifted high school seniors will now have an opportunity to compete for about 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $30 million dollars.
