Duval County Public Schools recently issued the following announcement.
UPDATE – As of Sept. 1, the Blackboard Mass Communication issues have been resolved. Schools will resume notifying families this afternoon of reported COVID-19 cases impacting their schools. Post below is being saved for archive purposes.
Typically at this time of the day, school principals are using an automated call system to inform families of any COVID-19 cases reported during the day.
Today, however, the district’s vendor—Blackboard Mass Notification—is experiencing technical problems impacting multiple school districts and preventing our normal communication process.
As a backup, the district has created a webpage showing today’s cases by school in alphabetical order. These will be the cases expected to appear on the district’s dashboard later tonight.
You can view this temporary webpage here: www.duvalschools.org/cases. This webpage will be in place until the Blackboard system is restored.
We apologize for the inconvenience to families and are hopeful our vendor can restore service quickly.
