City of Jacksonville issued the following announcement on Aug. 11.
The Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS), Animal Care & Protective Services (ACPS), and First Coast No More Homeless Pets (FCNMHP) are working together to ensure more pets are reunited with their families in Duval County. This weekend-long event will include:
Check chip registration
Update already registered chip information
Provide free microchipping to pets who need it
Appointments are not required to participate in this event, visit JHS, ACPS or FCNMPH on their corresponding day from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. to receive your microchip. Please bring proof of current rabies vaccinations to receive a microchip. If your pet is not up-to-date on their rabies vaccinations, you can pay for a vaccine and license at the event.
