On February 4, 2025, Rep. Rutherford announced the relaunch of the bipartisan Congressional Deaf Caucus with co-chair Rep. Mark Takano. He expressed enthusiasm about advocating for accessibility policies and strengthening ties between Congress members and Deaf constituents.
