President Donald Trump has nominated Tulsi Gabbard, a former Representative and Lieutenant Colonel, as the new director of national intelligence. This decision aligns with Trump's commitment to bring significant changes to Washington.

Senator Rick Scott expressed strong support for Gabbard's nomination, citing her extensive service and dedication to national security. "I completely support her nomination and will vote to confirm her as the next director of national intelligence because she loves our country and has spent decades serving and protecting it," Scott stated.

Gabbard's military career began in 2003 when she joined the Hawaii Army National Guard. She served overseas in Iraq and Kuwait, gaining valuable experience in military operations and security issues. Her tenure in Congress from 2013 to 2021 included membership on the House Armed Services Committee, where she further developed her understanding of national security matters.

Scott emphasized Gabbard's belief in restoring trust within the government and ensuring that intelligence agencies prioritize American safety without infringing on citizens' rights. He noted, "Gabbard believes that we must restore trust in our government, stop spying on our own citizens like the Biden administration did."

The senator also highlighted Gabbard's leadership qualities and readiness to tackle challenges within the intelligence community. "I trust that Gabbard possesses the leadership skills and experience necessary to address these challenges," he remarked.

Scott concluded by expressing his confidence in Gabbard's ability to collaborate effectively with President Trump for the benefit of Americans. He added, "I have confidence that she will work hand-in-hand with the president to serve the best interests of Americans."

Rick Scott represents Florida as a U.S. senator and previously served as its governor from 2011 to 2019.
