Free tax filing services offered for veterans starting January

Beginning Wednesday, January 29, 2025, the Military Affairs and Veterans Department will offer free tax services to veterans and their dependent spouses. These services will be available by appointment only, with a requirement for a DD-214 and/or Veteran Status ID.

Appointments can be made by calling 904-255-5550. The service is offered Monday through Thursday from 9 am to 2 pm at the MAVD Office inside City Hall, located at 117 W. Duval Street, #175.

"This initiative aims to provide Veterans and/or their dependent spouses with essential tax services, helping them navigate the complexities of tax preparations with ease," stated the department. "We are committed to supporting our Veterans and ensuring they have access to all the resources they deserve."
