Senator Rick Scott has introduced a series of bills aimed at reforming Washington and ensuring the government works for American families. The legislative package, part of his Make Washington Work plan, includes measures such as the No Budget, No Pay Act, a bill to repeal automatic pay raises for Members of Congress, and a constitutional amendment that proposes line-item veto power for the president, term limits for Congress members, and a supermajority requirement to raise taxes or fees.

Senator Scott emphasized his commitment to Florida families by stating, “I’ve made a promise to Florida families that I’ll do everything I can to make Washington work for them – that starts with reforming the tired, dysfunctional ways of Washington and making sure our government is always working in Americans’ best interests." He criticized the current state of affairs under the Biden-Harris administration and expressed optimism about implementing these changes with President Trump back in office.

The proposed constitutional amendments are intended to bring reform by focusing on returns on investment for taxpayers. Additionally, Scott's proposal includes repealing automatic congressional pay raises.

The No Budget, No Pay Act seeks to ensure that members of Congress do not receive salaries until both chambers pass budget resolutions and appropriations bills. This measure is cosponsored by several senators including Jacky Rosen, Katie Britt, Ted Budd, Marsha Blackburn, Steve Daines, Ted Cruz, and Eric Schmitt.

Another element of Scott's plan is the Let’s Get to Work Act. This bill aims to boost economic participation by expanding work requirements under programs like SNAP and HUD housing assistance.
