JaxParks is inviting the community to engage in a variety of programs taking place in and around Downtown Jacksonville. These activities are designed to cater to diverse interests, from fitness enthusiasts to art lovers.

At Friendship Fountain, several events are scheduled, including Friendsgiving Fountain on November 24th with food trucks and live music. Regular activities include yoga sessions on the first Thursday of each month and musical evenings every first Friday. The second Saturday of each month features jazz performances.

Fitness programs are also available along the Downtown Riverwalk, in collaboration with Yoga 4 Change Jacksonville and First Coast YMCA. These include yoga, Zumba, total body conditioning, body combat classes, and running clubs for different skill levels. A special yoga session at Tillie K. Fowler Regional Park encourages military personnel and veterans to participate.

For those interested in dance, Latin dance classes take place every Wednesday at Northbank Riverwalk Artist Square. Participants can learn various Latin dance styles in a group setting.

Other downtown programming includes monthly photo walks organized with Jacksonville Photographers Hub. These walks offer an opportunity for photographers of all levels to explore scenic spots in Downtown Jacksonville.

Art enthusiasts can join free art classes held at various locations downtown through a partnership with Jacksonville Artists Guild. Classes cater to different age groups and provide materials for participants.

Movie nights at the Artist Walk Amphitheater feature popular films like "Despicable Me 4" on November 15th and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" on December 20th.

JaxParks also offers spinning dance classes on the second Monday of each month and plans for silent disco sessions in spring.

For more information about these programs or other services offered by the City of Jacksonville Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department (PRCS), visit their website or follow them on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram @jaxparkscoj or X @jaxparks.

The PRCS serves nearly one million residents in Duval County through its recreational spaces and services tailored for people of all ages and abilities.
