The City of Jacksonville is set to host the 38th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast, presented by Florida Blue. This year's event will feature keynote speaker Jonathan Eig, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author known for his biography "King: A Life." Mayor Donna Deegan highlighted the significance of the event, stating: "The Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Breakfast is an opportunity to honor his legacy and embrace a shared vision of unity, equality, and progress. We’re honored to have bestselling author Jonathan Eig bring past and present together as the keynote speaker. All citizens are invited to participate in this storied tradition and be part of our ongoing work to build a city where everyone has the opportunity to thrive."

Scheduled from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m., the breakfast will be followed by a program starting promptly at 8 a.m. The hosts for the occasion are Dawn Lopez from Action News Jax and Anthony Austin from First Coast News.

Jonathan Eig is recognized not only for his acclaimed biography on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but also for being an accomplished historian with six published books, four of which have been New York Times bestsellers. His contributions extend beyond writing; he was also involved as a consulting producer for Ken Burns' PBS documentary series on Muhammad Ali.
