Senator Rick Scott and his wife, Ann Scott, have announced their donation of a portion of the senator's salary to Operation BBQ Relief. This organization provides hot meals to communities and first responders affected by natural disasters, such as Hurricanes Helene and Milton in Florida. The group has a wide network of volunteers and equipment across the country, allowing them to serve meals within 24-48 hours after a disaster.

Senator Scott remarked on the importance of Operation BBQ Relief, stating, "Operation BBQ Relief has been a saving grace to so many Floridians following natural disasters in the past years, especially after Hurricanes Helene and Milton. As a volunteer-based organization, Operation BBQ Relief and its thousands of volunteers embody what it means to serve selflessly and show up when and where your fellow Americans are in need."

David Marks, Senior Head of Growth & Development at Operation BBQ Relief, expressed gratitude for the support from Senator Scott and his wife. He noted that since Hurricanes Helene and Milton, the organization has served over a million meals across the Southeast. Marks emphasized that their work continues thanks to their network of volunteers who quickly mobilize after disasters.
