Following the release of the September employment report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which indicates a rise in unemployment to 4.1% from 3.8% in September 2023, Senator Rick Scott issued a statement expressing his concerns. The report highlights an increase in part-time jobs and multiple jobholders while full-time employment has decreased by 251,000.

Senator Rick Scott commented on the situation: “The administration Biden-Harris and their friends in the press want us to only look at top-line job numbers, but that doesn't tell the whole story. Over the year and since last month, full-time jobs have decreased and more people have to take on multiple jobs and part-time work to survive." He shared personal experiences from traveling through Florida where he heard "heartbreaking stories about parents having to take on multiple jobs," emphasizing this as a result of what he described as poor economic management by the current administration.

Scott also highlighted issues like business closures due to rising prices attributed to Vice President Harris and added that Hurricane Helene's devastation will exacerbate these challenges. Drawing from his upbringing, Scott recalled how his mother worked several jobs just to make ends meet.

Since taking office, Senator Scott has been vocal about addressing national debt issues and inflation's harmful effects. He has provided resources for those interested in his statements and actions concerning these urgent topics.
