Senator Rick Scott has issued a statement regarding Iran's recent missile attacks on Israel. In his remarks, he criticized the current administration's approach to Iran and called for strong support for Israel.

"Four years ago, Iran was weak, broke and powerless. Today, after years of appeasement from the Biden-Harris administration that has given the evil Iranian regime access to billions of dollars, we watch in horror as Iran terrorizes Israel with waves of missile attacks," said Senator Scott. He added, "The Biden-Harris regime has allowed this to happen – Iran took note as they abandoned Israel and ceded to the terrorists who seek to destroy the Jewish people and anyone who supports Israel."

Scott emphasized the importance of U.S. support for Israel. "Israel must do what it takes to defend itself," he stated. "The United States must stand strong with Israel, immediately give everything it needs to respond to and end the terror of the Ayatollah and his evil regime, and be clear that Iran will pay dearly for these attacks."

Senator Scott has been vocal about his stance on U.S.-Iran relations over the past year. In August 2024, he called on President Biden to deny visa requests from dictators for the UN General Assembly. Earlier in July 2024, he criticized the administration ahead of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s address to Congress.

Scott's other recent actions include introducing legislation aimed at blocking access to federally secure facilities by adversaries like Cuba and calling out additional sanctions waivers granted by the Biden administration.

His statements come amidst a backdrop of ongoing legislative efforts concerning Iran. These include demands for transparency on sanctions waivers, calls for censure over nuclear activities, and proposals to condition any nuclear deal with ties between Iran and China.

In light of these events, Senator Scott continues to urge stronger enforcement measures against Iran.
