U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) expressed his concerns regarding the situation at America's border and the allocation of military aid to Ukraine in a recent statement to the Wall Street Journal.

Rubio highlighted the significant number of individuals entering the country illegally since President Joe Biden took office, stating, "Nearly nine million people have entered this country illegally since Joe Biden became president." He emphasized the contrasting reactions to this influx, pointing out that while some may celebrate, many others are worried about the impact on their wages and communities.

Pointing to the consequences of the current immigration policies, Rubio raised the issue of the Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua establishing a presence in major U.S. cities. He also noted the strain on public resources caused by migrants competing for housing, jobs, and healthcare services.

Discussing his stance on providing military aid to Ukraine, Rubio reiterated his position from last fall, stating, "I made it clear I would send taxpayer dollars to Ukraine if—and only if—the president began to protect Americans from this invasion." Expressing disappointment in the lack of action from the President, Rubio criticized the allocation of funds for illegal immigration-related organizations in the "Ukraine bill."

Rubio emphasized his commitment to representing the interests of his constituents, stating, "My constituents elected me to represent their interests in Washington." He questioned the decision of some members of Congress to allocate funds for defending Ukraine's border while neglecting America's border security, reassuring his constituents that he did not support this allocation.

In conclusion, Senator Rubio's remarks underscore his prioritization of addressing issues at America's border before allocating resources to support Ukraine's border security.
