WASHINGTON — Today, Senators Rick Scott and Tim Scott have introduced a resolution reaffirming Israel's right to self-defense and condemning recent interference in Israel's electoral process by U.S. lawmakers. The resolution has garnered significant support from a group of cosponsors, as highlighted by Senator Rick Scott: "The resolution is cosponsored by Senators Tom Cotton, Josh Hawley, John Cornyn, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and many others."

Senator Rick Scott, currently on a visit to Israel, has been actively engaging with Israeli officials to address the common goal of combating Iran-backed Hamas terrorists. During his visit, Senator Scott met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other high-ranking officials. Senator Scott's efforts in Israel were underscored by his visit to the Western Wall, where he prayed for the people of Israel and the release of all hostages: "In recognition of Holy Week, I visited the Western Wall to pray for the people of Israel and the immediate release of all hostages."

The resolution introduced by Senators Rick Scott and Tim Scott aligns with the longstanding U.S. policy of supporting Israel's right to self-defense. This policy has been reinforced through previous bipartisan legislation and recent Senate resolutions following terrorist attacks by Hamas. The resolution aims to uphold the United States' commitment to Israel's security and sovereignty.
