U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) has called for the condemnation of campus antisemitism, but he emphasizes that this is just the beginning. In an op-ed published in The Federalist, Rubio argues that simply removing university presidents or rescinding donations will not be enough to combat the rising tide of left-wing extremism.

Rubio highlights the interconnectedness of various radical movements, such as the promotion of "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion" (DEI) and the Black Lives Matter movement. He suggests that these movements all stem from a common thread of Marxism, which threatens both academic integrity and the American way of life.

"These movements aren't identical, but if people who are outraged about today's outpouring of antisemitism truly want change in the Ivy League and beyond, they need to be willing to oppose all of them," Rubio asserts.

He draws a parallel between these left-wing cultural narratives and communism, stating that they divide the world into oppressed and oppressors, erasing individuality and promoting a zero-sum group power dynamic. Rubio warns that these narratives eventually legitimize violence against the perceived "oppressors," as they reduce politics to a simplistic power struggle.

Rubio poses a critical question: "Are we willing to confront the depths of this evil in response? Are elites willing to reject the whole ideological thread, not just its most recent manifestations?"

He expresses his hope that the answer is yes, as failure to reject the Marxist revolutionaries will only allow them to gain further ground in academia and beyond. Rubio warns that even the censure and discipline from the corporate class will not be sufficient to halt this madness if the underlying ideology is not confronted.

In conclusion, Rubio calls for a comprehensive approach to combat left-wing extremism, urging society to reject the interconnected radical movements and their Marxist ideology. He emphasizes the need to address the root causes rather than just the surface manifestations, in order to preserve academic integrity and protect the American way of life.

Rubio's words serve as a reminder that condemning campus antisemitism is just the first step in a broader battle against dangerous ideologies that threaten the fabric of society.
