Women's Outdoor Track & Field - Fri, May 20, 2022
The NAIA Offices have announced their final qualifiers for the 41st Annual NAIA Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships which will be held May 25th-27th at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, Alabama. Two members of the Edward Waters women's track & field program will represent the Purple & Orange as one of 636 student-athletes at this year's event. Senior Tiara Taylor will make her third consecutive apperance at nationals, while junior Dasia Stevens will make her debut apperance.
Taylor has had one of the most decorated careers at Edward Waters University. The three-time All-GCAC selection will compete for her first national championship in the Women's Triple Jump. A two-time GCAC champion in the event, Taylor earned her spot in Gulf Shores by reaching the NAIA "B" standard of 11.51m (37' 9.25") at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge on March 11th.
Stevens will compete in the Women's 100m Hurdles, thanks her 14.77s mark at the Edward Waters/Fort Valley State Dual Meet on May 5th in Jacksonville. Her time achieved the "B" standard and ranks 31st in the country.
