Edward Waters College Athletics recently issued the following announcement.
Edward Waters had a difficult time making shots and keeping NCAA Division I North Florida off of the three-point line as the Tigers fell 103-57 in a men's basketball exhibition contest Thursday evening at UNF Arena.
EWU (4-4/Game did not count against overall record) trailed throughout the contest and could not find their offensive footing, shooting just 34.7% from the floor on 24-72 shooting. North Florida (2-7), one of the nation's leading squads in three-point shooting, connected on 48% of their shots from the bonus sphere on 16-33 shooting. The Ospreys outrebounded the Tigers 49-34, including a 12-10 edge on the offensive glass. EWU turned the ball over 15 times in the contest, that turned into 19 North Florida points and were outscored 44-25 in bench scoring.
The Tigers were led by DeAndre Barton with 14 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Khalil Brown was also in double figures for Edward Waters with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Edward Waters will hit the road on Saturday afternoon for a 4:00pm tip-off against Paine College in Augusta.
