Cost of college went up for all students at the Sunstate Academy-Jones Technical Institute

Tuition and fees rose 4.8 percent for 2018-19 at the Sunstate Academy-Jones Technical Institute, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Florida students paid $13,698 to attend the two-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $633 more than the $13,065 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 97 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 94 students received grants or scholarships totaling $303,657 and 76 students took out student loans totaling more than $418,262.

Including all undergraduates (307), 190 students used grants or scholarships totaling $1.9 million, and 148 students took out $1.1 million in federal student loans.
